Onward. New Hampshire. Hucka-Bama, Prison Jews, and Guns Delivered in 30 Minutes or Less.

Still swimming back from Iowa but not too late to catch New Hampshire Hapn'ns.

--New Hampshire voters now RUNNING from Hillary. Click Here.

--Fred T hitting all conservative cylinders with his "ship 'em all home" Immigration Policy. He slaps Giuliani around but is shipping 'em all home what conservative voters want? Click here.

Gotta admit I'm kinda in Hucka-Bama fatigue mode
. That was a heckuva trip up to Iowa and I learned a few things you should know going onward:

The Iowans--as much as a derided them a while back--are not just a bunch of monkeys as the national press portrays them to be. I ATTENDED Caucus meetings and it was much like the PTO. These were a lot of regular folk who VOTE. Some of them didn't vote in 2004. I'll let you chew on that.

The Huckabee voters were NOT--as the national press would have you believe--just a bunch of EEEEvangelicals shipped out of churches like zombies in the night. These were real people who--while probably identifying with some faith--did not vote Jesus first. I met a lot of them. They simply LIKED Huck and the stuff they disagreed with him on they figured he was blowing smoke and the stuff they agreed with him on they tended to see as genuine. They just liked the man. Doesn't matter whether YOU believe me. But Giuliani, Romney, McCain and Fred need to believe me.

The Obama voters? Same as Huck voters only Democrats
. I said here back in August that Obama had the "swing." And you ain't got that "thing" if you ain't got that "swing".  That's it. Having some well loved greasy zipper by your side like Bill will thrill establishment Democrats but regular Americans--even liberals--are often smarter than the establishment gives them credit for. I don't think Obama can be stopped at this point. The Clintons just look old.

Finally, you all should know that in Iowa at least, Democratic voters were motivated BIG. Dem caucuses dwarfed Repub ones. Dem campaign parties dwarfed Repub ones.

Iowa? Reagan lost. Bush 1 lost. Dukakis lost. Bill lost.
But I think 2008 Iowa will mean different things. People were not asleep. We'll see.

Meanwhile, a few other real life issues to ponder that are going on locally.

First, the Jew in prison story in the Post.
Before you read this, remember:
This wouldn't be a story if it were Muslims involved. The prison would have given in.
The Constitution guarantees free speech but prisoners don't have it.

The Constitution guarantees the right to bear arms but prisoners don't.

And now the Dominos Pizza gun toting pizza driver.
Yes,
Dominos and any company has the right to regulate firearms on private property.
Yes the Pizza driver violated rules.
No Dominos did not have to accept his resignation.
Yes I will be exercising my rights by saying No to ordering Dominos again (and I don't care how "pro-life" the company is, by the way.)

    Three quickies;

    1. Huck and Obama are rocking because their populist appeal threatens the establishment of BOTH parties. This shouldn't be that surprising in light of last summer's revolt against the immigration bill. We The People in both parties want to take back our government.

    2. Prisoners wanting special accommedations because of their religious beliefs shouldn't be denied them, within reason. But the state shouldn't be forced to supply them either. They should have to rely on family, friends, or outside charitable/religious organizations to provide for their special needs, otherwise they get what everyone else gets.

    3. How can Domino's claim to be pro-life when they put the lives of their delivery people in harms way? I have a good friend whose daughter was delivering for Domino's out in Warren county. She got jumped one night and luckily escaped from being raped - or worse. The management expected her to deliver to the same area a few days later. It appears that Domino's pro-life principles exclude a defenseless person getting killed in the line of duty delivering a pizza.

    Jamie!

Glad to see you back from Iowa and what a great job you did on covering it! I was glued to my radio and so many great points were brought out to discuss and ponder! Kudos to you and 97.1 for making that happen!

On the Domino's guy? I cannot think of any occupations like a Pizza Delivery person or a cab driver who are so vulnerable to being attacked. The gentleman carrying the weapon saved his own life and more than likely some other delvery person's life, had the thugs been able to continue on...

In reading the story it makes me think about the recent Mall shooting.. There are signs on most malls stating that no firearms or weapons are allowed on the premises. So if Missouru law allows conceal and carry and yet places of busines do not allow employees to keep weapons on their property? Then a mall or business should provide adequate security should they not? Not all businesses obviously need security personell, but can we agree that certain occupations and places of business are more open to these kinds of crimes?

Have we not seen enough killings in this fashion for lawmakers and business owners to look to protect employees and customers???

Didn't we have a case similar to this a couple years ago in lovely Meacham Park where a female pizza delivery person was beaten and raped??? (Am I right here?) I believe that person's mother was interviewed on 97.1 FM Talk.

I am personally proud of that driver and thank God he was packing that day.

    Thx LTL

Domino's Pizza Guy legally defends himself in a robbery, most likely saves his own life, and the lives of future victims of this scum-bag. Excellent!!!! Needs to be more people in our society who won't roll over and take it from the rampant criminal population that our ultra-liberal society seems to be breeding like rabbits.
I can't believe there are people out there that aren't patting the driver on the back for defending himself. I was a food delivery driver for a few years when I was in the AF trying to make ends meet. It can get very 'uncomfortable' delivering in some "disadvantaged" neighborhoods. I didn't carry a gun, but I had a 12" bowie knife that I kept with me. Only had to 'show' it once when someone decided they wanted the food and money. The day my company said they wanted me to advertise the fact that I had food and money, by mounting the Brightly lit "PIZZA" sign on my roof, was the last day I worked there.

You know as I think of the Domino's story....My mom always told me that when life gives you lemons, you make lemonade right???

So if I were the CEO of Domino's? I would make that weapon toting delivery driver, the poster child for the company, much like Subway did Jarred.

They could call him "Kid Domino" and dress him up as a Cowboy and he could toss pepperponis up in the air and shoot them out of the sky in a commercial...

    Their Motto could be>>>>

Domino's The safest pizza in the business, delivered hot and fresh, our pizza are packed hot and packin' heat!

(Sorry, but that's how my mind works)

Want to comment on 2 issues. #1. In prison, if the prisoner is to recieve "special" treats from outside, the people bringing it in should bring enough for the entire cellblock. Otherwise, they should have to make do with what is provided. They are in PRISON, for Crying Out Loud, and in MY humble opinion, they should NOT have the same rights that the people on the opposite side of the wall, US, have. Being a parent of a murdered son, I have NO sympathy for the people in prison, because they are there because of choices that THEY made. Not MY fault they're in there...
On the related thread of Domino's Pizza, I agree with Lt. The Domino's drives should be armed, and trained to shoot to kill, such as the police are. Heck, give them "Reserve" cop status. Either that or give them tazers. I believe as much in the death penalty as I do the sanctity of life. I believe that if you murder someone, you should pay with your life. If you cause someone to be killed during the comission of a crime, then you should forfeit your life. I agree, Lt, that Domino's should make this guy their poster boy, and he should be in charge of training the drivers to shoot the ones who try to rob them. We hear all too often of delivery drivers who get whacked by robbers....
    Regards to all...

I did a little research. Depends on what source(s) you quote, but Pizza Delivery averages out to being the 5th most dangerous job. That's pretty darn high on the list, IMO. Seems like it should be mandatory that the delivery personnel are armed in some way.
As far as Dominos not having to accept the guys resignation - What could they do? Say "No, you cannot quit!"? Guy probably realized that he didn't like having to kill someone in the normal performance of his job, and decided to look for other employment. Let's face it, John Wayne-types aren't delivering pizza...

I'm all for Conceal and Carry, however, it is up to Domino's as a privately owned company to have rules about drivers not being able to carry. It then falls on the employees to quit or abide by the rules and citizens to boycott or keep on ordering pizzas due to Domino's position.

Plus the guy quit by his own decision....IMO Dominos should change it's policy and allow drivers to carry weapons, however to make it mandatory to get a job there? A little much.
