Christmas Greetings (And a question: Is Huck gonna kill us all?)

First, A Merry Bull Moose Christmas to you all. Thank You.
Sorry...I am in full season swing but darn I have a lot of angst.
So first the angst: then the season swing.![]()
I just saw a friggin' tow truck running lights and sirens. WTF? Baby was sleeping and we were having some egg nog so I didn't make a big deal about it.
On a lighter note, I saw Man World at the Mall for the first time. At each end there are seats and couches...men reading, sleeping, staring. Hey, there are bars at airports, why not a bar at a mall?
Ok. Now on to bitching about Huckabee once again.
Sorry, but I am totally off the HuckWagon.
This guy is gonna get us all killed.
Why are the comments about Islam and the War on Terror getting ZERO attention?
Click here for the comments from one of his dumb ass campaign guys.
Islam is a "radical religion"? The war on terror is a "theological war"?
I know why the Libs aren't all over this. They know an End Times obsessed Jesus Freak like Huck will get obliterated in a general election so they will let him talk all he wants.
The Righties are a different and more confusing story. So many Conservatives are just too cowardly to condemn such words because I think they want that message to be delivered because it wins them votes. Kinda like how the Libs tell everyone they are worthless without government, the Righties like to tell people they'll all die without a "Christian" anti-Muslim Republican in office.
And, by the way, it's ok for YOU to think all Muslims are evil. But I don't want my President thinking that OR saying that.
Why? Not because I am afraid of Muslims. Not because I am politically correct. It's because it is wrong.
There are seven million Muslims in this country who are American citizens and to my knowledge NONE of them have been charged with any act of terror.
Do I want my President telling seven million American citizens that their religion is "radical" and that we are at war with their "theology"? Is your only comeback that they aren't ALL in the streets decrying terror? Some of them have been.
For the Radical Muslims it is indeed true this is a theological war. That's not the case with us. We are not fighting Muslims. We are fighting Muslim extremists who have bastardized a religion.
Sure, radio hosts and politicians can get a ton of support by just simply attacking a religion. Any ape can generate support for hate. Just look at the Jihadists.
The Huckabee campaign position puts a target on our backs because it basically tells the Jihadists we are "in" for their game. A Holy War is just want they want. Not to mention it tells 7 million Americans that they are our enemies.
Huckabee is more dangerous than I ever imagined, and I'll be damned if I am going to allow my kids to be sentenced to fighting a "theological war" for the rest of their lives.
Ok. Now on to the fun stuff.
Dontcha wish you had a car likeTHIS for Christmas shopping?
And remember THIS from ol' Steve Marteeeen?
And , really, I don't mean to make fun of this dude...but you have to see his awesome YouTube thing.
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!
Jamie,
Good points on Huck. I mean if you think about it, shortly after 9/11 President Bush slipped (along with others) and used the word "Crusade". That word and it's misunderstood meaning, was quickly thrown away. President Bush gets lambasted by the leftist media because he speaks openly of his religion...
But there is a difference between Huck and Bush, Bush's run for Presidency was not based on his religion.
I am not sure if it's Huck pushing the "religion card" or the media blowing it up into a frontpage issue, but it is going to be the kiss of death for Huck. The whole story or non-story of the "floating cross" does not help Huck in this regard.
A President's religion is important to most of the voters, but it is not going to carry you to the oval office.
If I were Huckabee I would say this to the media....
" Yeah look, I'm a devout Christian, that's all you people seem to talk about lately. My religion is an important part of who I am. I take it very seriously. But you in the media have taken something dear, and turned being a Christian into a circus side show. I think it's time to get to the issues at hand, we have a war going on, serious border issues, and economy that needs help. This is the last I am going to speak of my religion unless it is poignant to the issue at hand"
That's what Huck needs to say. But it seems the media is luring Huck to his demise like a trap door spider does a water bug...
If the media treats Bush's prayer to God, and prayer in schools, and Nativity scenes in public places, and saying Merry Christmas for cryin' out loud as wrong and evil?? Then what the hell makes people think this media's phony love of Huck and his media-oric rise in the polls is all about?? It's a set up job...
He won't beat Hillary and in my opinion he won't beat Obama... Hillary and her folks will have Huck chewed up and spit out...that's just my opinion.
I love Huck and him wearing his religion on his sleeve but it's time to get to the issues..
Huck's words on Islam are wrong over all, but it is also what many misinformed Americans beleive...that we are at war with all of Islam.
Jamie you have to admit it is very disheartening and infuriating on how little of these American Muslim leaders have spoken out against terror..
It has always and everday boggled my mind that 3,000 Americans, human beings killed in the manner that they were, did not spark a larger world reaching outrage...But then again, how can I hold moderate muslims to any fault, when we have "christian" politicians in our government that don't understand our fight and slap America and it's soldiers in the face on a daily basis.
What tough times we have today.. My vote is going to based almost soley on this fight against terror, I am not getting any warm and fuzzy feelings about any of these candidates.. I want fire and vigor and I'm getting "floating crosses", wishy-washy, and lazy attitudes.
thx LTL

I think it's pretty evident that Huckabee doesn't stand a chance , it's just a matter of how long the MSM wants to keep holding him up ..
He is a sitting duck for any democrat opponent , and liberal media wants it that way ...
But , Don't forget about my man Ron Paul . You know , the "kooky" guy that says the unabridged ,undoctored , unwavering truth ALL the time ..
Him being a "sleeper" candidate works , because most Americans are just waking up to the facts he's talking about ..
Huckabee and Romney are gonna have their lover's quarrel between Iowa and Wyoming ... after that with strong finishes by Dr. Paul , The MSM will be in complete panic mode , and actually promote somebody else .. But , it won't be Dr. Paul -----
Once the Ron Paul's message is with the people , Good Luck MSM .... Because Paul supporters won't flip-flop like The poster children candidates they present to us .
Can anyone say Landslide for the General election .... Ron Paul vs. (any democrat).... It will make Ronald Reagan's landslide look-like a Game seven series that goes into extra innings ..
Ron Paul 2008 - Do Yourself , Family , and Friends a Favor ... Save them from the Game .

Gotta Agree Jamie I am Off my Huck Train too, he sounds so good, but his record isn't what I want mostly po'd cuz if the illegals children shouldn't pay 4 the parents "sins" means he'd make us and I've got my own "sins" to pay for and my son doesn't need to pay either.
Hope You got all the Christmas Up safely! God Bless You.
I pray daily for 97.1 and staff
Love LNSu.
PS wanna here more from Alen Keyes and Hunter.

This HAS been a theological war since the 7th century, Jamie. The fundamental doctrine of Islam is convert, kill, or subordinate. There is no other religion on the planet with that philosophy.

The difference between today and the past is that these radicals have the ability to bring this war abroad. Until we have courage and political will to address the root cause of the problem, we will never be able to defeat it. This certainly does not make all Muslims our enemy nor does it exclusively qualify Huckabee to be president because he is a Christian pastor. But someone needs to say what Huck is saying form the bully pulpit of the presidency to encourage and embolden the moderate Muslims to engage the radicals.
Next to the differences in the beliefs about Christ, the biggest difference between Christianity and Islam is the fact that Christianity has been a self-policing religion throughout history. The Christian extremes have always been directly confronted by the more moderate elements in the majority. Until there is an overwhelming world-wide outcry by moderate Muslims against the radicals, not just opposition by a select few in the safe-havens protected by the U.S., this is and will be a religious war in THEIR eyes. Muslims who turn a blind eye to the antics of the extremists are merely showing de facto support for their behavior, and us failing to recognize and acknowledge this war for what it is will be at our own peril.
All that said, have a wonderful, blessed Christmas.
Jim

Hope you all had a great Christmas.
There are many who don't support the War, and I believe that if we weren't over there, fighting the Islam0facists, then we'd be fighting them over here. Heck, we are already, just not on the scale that we COULD be. No, we're not at war with Islam. Just the Extremists. We were also fighting ideaologies during WW-II as well... The Nazi's and Japanese wanted to destroy our way of life, and wanted to make us dependant upon them. We do not want to be thrust back to the 7th century, with their ideaologies and such.... we want to remain a Free and Democratic society.
Regards to all, and a Happy New Year

I find it kinda fishy that 4 of the ten are running for president : Clinton , Obama , Rudy .... and oh yes , MIKE HUCKABEE
I don't trust Mike Huckabee .

I hope that all of you moosers had a fabulous Christmas! Many blessings to you all.
I will keep this short as I am typing one-fingered on this nifty Ipod thingie my husband put in my stocking beside the block of wood. I'm thinking he will be enjoying it much more than me.....men and their gadgets...God love 'em!
First off, Jamie, I LOVE that 97.1 played Christmas music all day Christmas. Whoever was responsible ......smooches to them! I must add that 93.7 did too.
A huge thank you to all stations who did so! It was greatly appreciated.
The second thing is that I have to agree with what JD says as regarding Islam. While many Muslims are not extremists, too many are, and the many that aren't, are silent. Listen to their leaders. Read the Koran....pay particular attention to the suras and the hadiths. They are not allowed to question it. The religion has not been bastardized. Some Muslims do not subscribe to the intolerant and violent portions, but then those are the ones that would be considered not true Muslims.

Definitly disagree on this one. When the major leaders of a religion openly speak out calling for the death of Americans, and the religions followers carry out those orders, then America has been drawn into a war with that religion.
Are all Muslims actively trying to kill us, NO. BUT, all Germans weren't actively trying to kill us during WWII either.
The Islamic Religious leadership has been calling for Americans deaths for years now. The silence of Non-Radical Muslims provides inferred support of those actions.
There is NO WAY anyone can try to spin that. We are at war with Islam. And unless we get stronger leadership, with a iron hand in protecting Americans, we are going to lose this one.

I think it necessary to truly listen to those ex-muslims or the tiny fraction of muslims who want a reformation of their religion.
Here is an interview with Wafa Sultan that needs reading. Google her, she was on al Jezeera debating an imam telling the arab world that they need to get their shit together.

Annie, Thanks for the link to that interview. Unfortunately, the thoughts and ideas expressed in it are not the exception, but rather the rule whenever you read/hear any interviews involving ex-type Muslims. ANYONE who believes that Islam is a religion of Peace and Understanding is an idiotic fool with his head buried in the sand. We have been pulled into a war with Islam. I just pray that our soon-to-be presdient has the cajones to do what needs to be done to win this one.
