Kwhite, Kdemocratic, Koperatives (KKK)

What a shame. Two decent guys, one a Vietnam war hero and the other a man with a stellar civil rights record, both tarnishing their histories by being pressed into service as prostitutes for Hillary Clinton.

Actually, people have forgotten Senator Bob Kerrey's value as an American, but if you can stuff as many Muslim references into a discussion of Obama while you're endorsing Hillary then all the white liberal lefties will be able to keep the black man on their plantation and you have a new life as a Clintonista.
Here's What's His White Name In Action

That seems a pretty simple and tried and true strategy. Ambassador Young used it the other day. (He even insinuated Obama would be killed)

Democrats survive by telling black people they suck, not by telling them they can be elected President.

Billary seems to like black men too, as long as they are voting for him or parking his car.

Jamie, I couldn't agree more. Why is it that minorities in general, and African Americans in particular, continue to put their trust in the Democratic party? The Dem's have created a subserviant culture among the minorities, in essense telling them that without us (the Dems), you can not and will not ever be succesfull in American society. I think just the opposite is probably true, the conservative approach is the correct approach for them to embrace. Reduce the barriers to success for these people, do away with the big government bullshit that inevitably stands in the way of these people becoming a bigger part of our society. For decades, the Democrats have created and nurtured a demographic that "needs" them and has insitlled this mental stumbling block into their culture. Problem is, without their dependants, the Dem's would cease to exist. And we all know that they sure as hell are not going to let go of that grip any time soon.

Historically, blacks have been republican. It wasn't until the 1960's that they made their fatal error and switched to the democrat side. Not really sure why they did that because if it wasn't for the republican party, the Civil Rights Acts would have never gotten passed. Hell, they would still be slaves. Unfortunately, by following the democrats, they have chained themselves to the plantation of failure. The ones who break free are called Uncle Toms.

Republican and democrat platforms on civil rights through the ages -->

    http://www.wallbuilders.com/resources/misc/CivilRightsPlatforms.pdf

Two great books, besides the one mentioned in the link above, with plenty of footnotes to factcheck for those doubting Thomases..

Setting the Record Straight: American History in Black and White by David Barton
-reintroduces the forgotten heroes and untold stories of African American political history

And for much of our history, they did not like the democrat party and how they undermined the rights of blacks (i.e. - Fugitive Slave Law, Dred Scott, amongst many). Democrats in 1856 stated that ending slavery would be dangerous and ruin the happiness of the people - "Gee, who is going to sweep our floors, pick our crops, and watch our children." Sounds familiar.

Black Rednecks and White Liberals by Thomas Sowell
A series of essays on the following insights

    - the development of ghetto culture tht is wrongly seen as a unique black identity - that behavior comes from white crackers my friends. Ebonics? White trash speak.

    - The real history of slavery and the distorted view it is too often seen today. Yes boy and girls, the white Christian west ended it. The rest of the world had to be forced kicking and screaming into doing so and it is still going on in muslim nations and where it has always gone on - in Africa.

    - Essay on the hatred of Jews and similar groups around the world.

    - misconceptions of German history and the Nazi era

    I highly recommend both books.

Rep. Joseph Hayne Rainey, 1871, explaining why blacks were most often targets of Klan violence -

"When we call to mind the fact that this (Klan) persecution is waged against men for the simple reason that they dare vote with the republican party that save the Union intact,...the question is sometimes asked, Why do not the courts of law afford redress?...We answer, that the courts are in many instances under the control of those Democrats who are wholly inimical enemies to the impartial administration of law and equality. What benefit would result from appeal to tribunals whose officers are secretly in sympathy with the very evil against which we are striving?

...If the Negroes, numbering one-eight of the population of these United States - would only cast their votes in the interest of the democrat party, all open measures of violence against them would be immediately suspended and their rights as American citizens recognized. But...I can only say that we love freedom more - vastly more - than slavery; consequently, we hope to keep clear of the democrats!

...I will say that in the State of south Caronlina, there is no disturbance of an alarming character in any one of the counties in which the Republicans have a majority. The troubles are usually in those sections in which the Democrats have control.

..I say...to the entire membership of the Democratic Party, that upon your hands rests the blood of the loyal men of the South. Disclaim it as you will; the stain is there to prove your criminality before God and the world in the day of retribution which will surely come. I pity the man - or party of men - who would seek to ride into power over th dea body of a legitimate opponent.

..I can say for my people that...we are fully determined to stand by the Republican party and the government...WE have resolved to be loyal and firm, and as Queen Esther said lon ago, if we perish, we perish! I earnestly hope the bill will pass."

(the bill would allow the federal government to punish Klan violence. It passed but not one democrat voted for it.)

    In their own words.

Even though almost 5000 Americans were lynched, blacks were lynched at a rate of almost 3 times higher than whites.

    Rep. Roy Lynch (black) ~ 1870ish -
"More colored than white men are thus persecuted simply because they constitute in larger numbers the opposition to the Democrat Pary."

    Rep. Richard Cain (black) -
"The bad blood of the south comes because the negroes are Republicans. If they would only cease to be Republicans and vote the straight out democrat ticket there would be no trouble. Then the bad blood would sink entirely out of sight."

Democrat assault went beyond lynchings and included attacks against civil rights, which blacks knew.

    Rep. Joseph Hayne Rainey:
"You gentlemen on the democrat side of the house have voted against all the amendments of the Constitution and the civil rights laws enforcing the same. Why did you do it? I answer, because those measures had a tendency to give to the poor negro his just rights....and give him freedom of speech, freedom of action, and the opportunity of education, that he might elevate himself to the dignity of manhood. Now you come to us and say that you are our best friends. We would that we could look upon you as such. We would that your votes as recorded.. from day to day could only demonstrate it. But your votes, your actions, and the constant cultivation of your cherished prejudices prove to the negroes of the entire country that the democrats are in opposition to them; and if the democrats could have their way, our race would have no foothold here...The Democrat party may woo us, they may court us and try to get us to worship at their shrine, but I will tell the gentleman that we are Republicans by instinct, and we will be Republicans as long as God will allow our proper senses to hold sway over us."

    Frederick Douglas agreed:
'Each colored voter of the State should say in Scripture phrase, "may my hand forget it's cunning and my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth (Psalm 137:6-6) if ever I raise my voice or give my vote for the nominees of the democrat party."

That has come to pass and look what it got them.

Did you forget Lyndon B. Johnson's "Great Society"? That's when they switched. That is, more of them... Some have stayed Republican... J C Watts of Oklahoma. (Yay OU!!!!!) My home state. I think that with the institution of Welfare, many of them started living on Welfare....BUT, this is fodder for another lively discussion thread. The Black People ( I digress from calling them 'African Americans' because they are Black Americans. The white man from Africa who moves to the USA and starts his roots into the USA can ALSO be called "African American", can he not??
They have always been 'victims'. It just seems to be their nature. Don't get me wrong, I have some great friends, some of my best friends, are Black People. I'd NEVER insult them in ANY way. But the fact remains that their own people are still victimizing them. 2 people come to mind, no, 3. Sharpton, Jackson, and now Young. When will they see THROUGH this?

    Nice.

Most lawmakers haven't had time to read the massive spending bill, which House Democrats crafted in secret and released late Sunday. The $515 billion appropriations bill will fund government operations for the fiscal year that began in October.

Instead of passing 13 individual spending bills as it is supposed to do, Congress ended up passing only one. It combined the other 12 into one big "omnibus" bundle.....

..He said the bill contains over 8,000 earmarks (pork barrel projects), bringing the total for 2008 up to more than 10,000 earmarks compared to just 2,658 in 2007.

DeMint also complained about "spending gimmicks" that he says have been used to hide at least $14-billion in extra domestic spending.

The spending bill goes beyond what is needed to fund government operations. It also includes "unrelated policy items," DeMint complained. "Many of these riders are backed by special interests, such as organized labor, and could not win passage on their own," he said.

Real nice Pelosi. Yes, this is exactly what Americans want from you.

I agree with you in many respects - I prefer to be called "Black" as opposed to "African American" since I've never even been there. But your references to Welfare and victimhood appear to be simplistic analysis of a complex issue.

It wasn't the institution of Welfare that created the black underclass. That's merely a symptomatic consequence. The real problem has been the systematic dismantling of the black family and the bastardization of cultural identity. Discarding all other conditions like race, national origin, initial socio-economic position, etc., the most powerful factor with the most direct correlation to poverty in America is whether or not there is a resident male in the household. And in no other racial group is the problem of single parent households more prevalent than in the black community.

In the decades following the abolition of slavery, black people were on a steady climb up the socio-economic ladder, even despite wide-spread discriminatory practices. Following the dismantling of segregation, the last institutional impediment to further advancement so no such continuation of this trend. The difference was that many Civil Rights era groups had adopted a sometimes militant socialistic ideology. This morphed the righteous indignation at inequality into a desire for role-reversal which lead to anger and enmity at the power structure. By definition, such an ideology is driven by the victimhood of those in the group by those in power, and calls for those in power to pay restitution. Democrats managed to turn this desire into votes by offering social programs as some sort of olive branch. And in order to keep it going, they needed to make sure people thought of themselves as victims in need of their help.

Victimhood permeated the community so deeply that it became a matter of black identity to recognize one's oppression at the hands of "The Man." And when children are brought up believing that there is no hope, no matter how hard they work. They don't. And then this becomes part of parenting - "Why bother?" is the underlying theme. Added to the materialistic tinge of American culture at large, and the "do what you want" culture espoused by privileged liberals, many black men decided it was better to seek as much pleasure in the now as possible with no regard to their previous responsibilities to their family, community or country. And here we are.
