Republican Jimmuh
The Republican Jimmuh strikes again.

So Mr. Taco Bell Half Priced Wendys Target Registerer has some thoughts on foreign policy does he?
Here ya go.
It's not at all bad that Huck is criticizing the Bush Administration.
Worst part is Huck stating what we all know as part of political pandering.
Didn't send enough troops, Huck? No Shit.
Shoulda hounded them in Afghan and Pakistan? No Shit.
How long did it take for that pony to get to your doorstep?
Between THIS and his move Guantanamo prisoners BS..I am starting to wonder just how far this guy is gonna sell out to be the Republican Democrats can love. Meanwhile, Conservatives who are not Repub or Democrat are getting hosed by players like Huck--who seems to be pursuing all sides.

Jamie -- You're gonna have to start giving equal time to pro-Huckabee folks on your blog and radio program. Lately, it seems as if a more appropriate name for your morning show is "Allman and Crane Bash Huckabee in the Morning."

Huckabee's problem is he keeps running into his own lies.

Bob,
I disagree. Huckabee is the "story du jour" right now. When you are the potential front runner you are open to scrutiny.
If you listen to Jamie's Show, which I know you do. Denys is a big Huckabee supporter and Jamie and Crane have made a point to also talk of the good things he has to offer and the other candidates as well.
Every Republican candidate has good ideas and qualities, but each also has their skeletons... They are all open for "bashing" as you call it...It's the nature of the beast.
Not one of these Rep candidates are the knight in shining armor by a long shot...
We should be able to have our fun "bashing" the republicans just as we do the democrats...
Their politicians after all...
Now Bash away Bash away Bash away all!

Huck is making me nervous. Mitt is looking more attractive. And it is because of Huck's own words and pandering to the illegals quarters.
Thompson/Hunter, Hunter/Thompson, with Tancredo in charge of the border?

Baloney, Bob. You don't have an ounce of facts to back up what you say. Our phone lines and my comments section here is always open. No one is shut out or not give "equal time". That liberal whine doesn't fly. Look at my archives and try to harken back to before TWO WEEKS ago.
We've been raking all of our guys over the coals equally and with humor. This isn't a death match. This is politicis and it's supposed to be fun and lively and graciously conentious.
Just once I'd like to post something about a candidate without one of the candidate's supporters opting to go after the messenger instead of the message and attack my radio show and blog. I get it from the Rudy guys and Mitt guys and Obama guys and Clinton guys ad nasuem. It's the laziest tactic I've ever seen and it's boring as hell.

LOL. At this point I'm ready for it I think... that's the one great thing about Huck is that he understands working class concerns...Perot did too...dare I say it's a Conservative tradition to be for the people and suspicious of corporate power. How many times have you heard a Republican favor corporate bail outs but won't even consider some social programs. If Huck can work that he'll be a giant.
I'll never forget being at a gas station and listening to a 26 year old say how she dressed a nasty finger cut herself because she couldn't afford the co pay...I mentioned that to Gingrich and he accused her of buying Ho Hos and Cigs instead of helping herself. Sorry Newt, she was buying gas. That's what turns me off about Republicans who really aren't conservatives...Teddy R would never have subscribed to that cynical view of citizens....

Do you listen to the show? The guys have been over Huckabee's recasting his record up and down for days.

Jamie/BMA
This post is just my scatter brained inquisitive mind thinking out loud on BMA...
Disclaimer- This post does not necessarily reflect the opinion of BMA or Allman & Crane or 97.1. It is rather just the rambling thoughts of some dude out in the thriving metroplois of Pocahontas IL. (traffic is hell out here.)
In my opinion only. I don't think Huckabee has a chance to be President. I don't feel he can beat Hillary or Obama for that matter. I think if Huckabee did win the nomination, the media would have him in the fetal position sobbing before he had a chance.
This, despite the freight train full of garbage that Hillary brings. Or depsite the inexperience and Obama has.
The Clintons can walk a mile through a pig farm and the media would tell them and the public how "good they smell and how much they care about animals". I really think Huckabee is a great man and I like the hell out of him. I hope he ends up with a position in the next administration...but he has no chance against Hillary or Obama.Sorry. (Bob McCarty, that was me saying that not Jamie
If Obama wins the Dem nomination, the media will turn his inexperience and consistent verbal flubs he makes and make him a bonafide superstar, his flubs will be made "cute" or to prove how "real" he is. Someone out of their element into a sensation.. Kind of like American Idol did with that William Hung dude... They would make something out of nothing... Okay, did you ever think Obama would be compared to William Hung??? Probably not..but I just write as I think...scary...
As a conservative. Obviously, Hill and Obama both have very liberal ideas (duh)...The only way to defeat them is with the most conservative candidate... Who is that?...Well it's up to discussion for certain. But on this very day, right now? I don't feel comfortable at all with any of the Repuclican candidates. I have not made my choice and generally don't until they say something that strikes my election chord....
I am frustrated with Giuliani and Thompson, because I feel they should be more aggressive..it infuriates me. I want fire and vigor...(Why did you give up Iowa Giuliani? What about Carolina?) All these guys seem like they are just going through the motions at times... Romney is aggresive in his fight for Iowa for example, but timid and lazy in his demeanor.... He makes me uneasy...Ron Paul is brilliant in many areas but loses my vote for certain with his "weirdo" vibe he gives and his stance on our country's safety.
This is going to be tough for a conservative as many of you know...But whoever conservatives choose better be ready for the blood bath against the Clinton's (one can only hope America is as tired of Clinton's as they are of Bush's)
I have to admit, I am surprised and entertained at times with this race as a political junkie, but this is huge in so many ways... It's staggering how serious it is....

I listen for less than an hour, on my way to work.
I was referring specifically to Dean's comment, but an example of what I'm criticizing was played out during today’s show.
Allman brought up the theology degree issue.
They played two clips of Huck saying he has a theology degree, at least one of which was in the context of describing the war against islamofascism as a theocratic war, not a political one.
Here’s what Huck said a couple days ago in response to the criticism of him not having a degree in theology, specifically or technically:
"I have a bachelor of arts in religion and a minor in communications in my undergraduate work. And then I have 46 hours on a master's degree at Southwestern Theology Seminary. So, my degree as a theological degree is at the college level and then 46 hours toward a masters -- three years of study of New Testament Greek, and then the rest of it, all in Seminary was theological studies, but my degree was actually in religion."
In addition to this, he was a pastor / preacher for twelve years.
The use of the word theology when commenting on his degree in no way justifies calling the man dishonest, but that’s what Allman insinuated and Crane accepted, after unsuccessfully trying to get Allman to acknowledge that Huck has a degree in religion.
Here are reasons to support my position:
1. A degree in religion is obviously a theological degree by nature – theology being defined as the study of God.
2. He had just said the war against islamofascism is a theocratic war – theology is more of a correlative term than religion, particularly for those folks scratching their heads wondering what in the heck “theocratic” means.
3. If I say I have a degree in computers, and my specific degree is in computer networking, am I lying? What if I said I have a degree in networking, in the context of talking about information technology? Obviously, I wouldn’t be lying in either case. Should he have provided his transcripts before making the point that he has a unique understanding of islamofascism? His point was not to highlight the specific nature of his degree, but to say, “Hey, I come at this issue from a very unique perspective.”
My complaint is not that Allman brought it up, but that he failed to give Huck’s published response after criticizing him (and seemingly even refused to entertain Crane’s notion that the difference between a degree in theology and religion is insignificant, in the context of what Huck was saying), and moved on to the next topic with Huck being labeled as “saying something that isn’t true.” I personally think that's pretty unfair and unbalanced.

So me AND Huckabee AND his own research director disagree with you, Larry. Huck says he doesn't have a theology degree. He says he has a degree in religion. Here's a candidate being more honest about the facts than his own supporters like you. If you say you have a theology degree you oughta have a theology degree. If you have a religion degree, then you oughta say you have religion degree. Isn't that what religious conservatives talk about? being truthful and moral and right? Instead you try to make it my fault. You're making a mess of yourself defending something even your own guy doesn't defend. It's embarrassing.
Let Huckabee speak for himself. He was wrong.

I sure hope so, LTL, because McCain and Romney have gained a lot of steam this week. Romney has done some really despicable negative campaigning too.
Just to bring everyone else in on all my comments regarding this, I just e-mailed Allman, Crane & Denys the following:
"Huckabee has been getting hammered the last few weeks on your show; I hope you plan on spending some time on these stories too.

Drudge has this to say:
'MEDIA FIREWORKS: MCCAIN PLEADS WITH NY TIMES TO SPIKE STORY
Thu Dec 20 2007 10:56:57 ET
Just weeks away from a possible surprise victory in the primaries, Republican presidential candidate Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz has been waging a ferocious behind the scenes battle with the NEW YORK TIMES, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned, and has hired DC power lawyer Bob Bennett to mount a bold defense against charges of giving special treatment to a lobbyist!
McCain has personally pleaded with NY TIMES editor Bill Keller not to publish the high-impact report involving key telecom legislation before the Senate Commerce Committee, newsroom insiders tell the DRUDGE REPORT.
The paper's Jim Rutenberg has been leading the investigation and is described as beyond frustrated with McCain's aggressive and angry efforts to stop any and all publication.

The drama involves a woman lobbyist who may have helped to write key telecom legislation.
The woman in question has retained counsel and strongly denies receiving any special treatment from McCain.
Rutenberg, along with reporter David Kirkpatrick, has been developing the story for the last 6 weeks.
Rutenberg had hoped to break the story before the Christmas holiday, sources reveal, but editor Keller expressed serious reservations about journalism ethics and issuing a damaging story so close to an election.
McCain campaign officials Rick Davis, Charlie Black and Mark Salter are also said to have met with the NEW YORK TIMES in an effort to halt publication.

(I know this might be "old news", but I should respond to what Allman said.)
I didn't say he has a theology degree; I said he has a theological degree.
That's the point he was making when he said it, and what he said recently in response to the criticism. (Read the quote again.)
Are you saying you come down on the same side of this as Huckabee and his research director? So their position is that he was lying so as to mislead? That seems to be your position as it was presented on the radio. Please clarify if it's not.
