The Bush-Kennedy Immigrationistas Are Holding Something In Their Hands...But It's Not An Alien Amnesty Act

Way to go Bull Moosers!
President Bush and Sens. Kennedy and McCain may be having a hard time swimming back to shore after having their Illegal Alien Flotilla Raft blown out from under them by a "cloture" vote.
Remember, dear Bull Moosers, we've learned that political stripes don't count. It's who you are as a public servant.

Dorgan
The hero of the night: A Democrat.
Among the good guys:

McCaskill Bond Tester Webb Lott Kyl Boxer
Missouri Senator Claire McCaskill, just off her confusing vote against the no brainer Cornyn Amendment, casts the NAY vote when it appears to count most along with Sens. Tester and Webb and Boxer. Republican Senators Lott and Kyl and our own Kit Bond tell their fearless leader to take a hike.
I'm telling you, Bull Moosers, I do not think there is any doubt you've had an impact on our local delegation.
Meanwhile, please keep THIS list handy when it comes time to judge those who give a flyin' rip about the law.
Here's the roll call vote on the Coburn Amendment that essentially dictated that we enforce EXISTING IMMIGRATION LAWS! Hey, there's an idea!
The usual suspects: Clinton, Obama, Durbin, Reid etc. all voted NO.
Unusual but predictable self preservationist Chuck Hagel voted NO
Webb must have just rolled out of bed because he voted NO.
McCaskill and Bond: YES.
Pansies NOT VOTING: McCain and Kerry.
Alright. Ding Dong the bill is dead... now tomorrow we will hear gloating and politicians patting themselves on the back. So rather than letting the dust settle, let us BullMoosers keep hammering home that this type of activity and notions will not be tolerated by those of us who live in the real America. Take a breather BMA, but not a long one because this issue won't go away.... This battle is won but clean your weapons and write home solddiers because they'll be back Thx LTL

Well stated, LTL! The REAL lesson here is ours - if we ignore the polls, ignore the MSM pronouncements, ignore the political spin, and KEEP THE HEAT ON THESE POLITICIANS they will reluctantly start to listen. It's up to US to keep on keepin' on if we want to take back our country. As far as these politicians are concerned, even those who voted against cloture this time around - you can dress up a pig, but it's still a pig.
Congratulations to Jamie and the rest of the Bullmoosers!

Although I don't understand Senator McCaskill's vote on the Cornyn amendment at all, I am thrilled that she and Senator Bond were on the right side of the cloture vote. I do believe that our voices were heard and it gives me much inspiration to keep fighting! Jamie, give us the next topic and we'll get to work.

Round 1 is done, we still have a long fight ahead. They will try again as LTL stated. Need to build the numbers, insted of 242, maybe 200,000 or more, then they will have no choice but to listen, next year is an election year and the crap they will try to pass will be far worse than this one. Kennedy and his cronies aren't done with this one... Good work Jamie, keep it up... MOre breakfast with the troops please...

Wow!! Claire wouldn't vote for the Coburn but somehow found the sense to vote this appalling amendment down. Maybe if our voices are heard more often and in more volume we will see more representatives actually represent us. Good Job BullMooseAmerica!! Let's tackle enforcement of our borders now.

We need to get plugged into the online conservative community. There are already a number of other blogs out there with like-minded readers.
One of the major advantages of the left's cyber wing is that MoveOn has managed to make itself into a singular entity that represents a large segment of the liberal base. With their e-mail newsletters and valls to action, they can mobilize tens (possibly hundreds) of thousands of people to rally around a specific issue.
We need to be capable of that, and the only way to get started is to get connected...

I have been spreading the BMA word via My Space. The bulletins can become much like a chain letter if a few people begin to move them around.

This in NOT about immigration. This is about the honesty of the presidential candidates in the Senate. I have acquired the roll call voting records of S 1348, the Senate Immigration Bill, as an example of legislation with high visibility and public polarization. Candidates sometimes choose to duck the issue rather than go on record for or against a controversial issue. They do this in Congress by NOT VOTING. Here is a summary of how Biden, Brownback, Clinton, Dodd, Kerry, McCain, and Obama did NOT VOTE on this bill.
There was an Opening Cloture Vote and Closing Cloture Vote. A YES vote for opening cloture sends the bill to the floor for debate and amendment. A NO vote effectively kills the bill. On the Opening Cloture Vote on May 21, these presidential candidates chose to not go on record either way by NOT VOTING:
Biden (D-DE)
Clinton (D-NY)
Dodd (D-CT)
Kerry (D-MA)
McCain (R-AZ)
Obama (D-IL)
A YES vote for closing cloture sends the amended bill to the Senate floor for final vote. A NO vote leaves the bill on the floor for further debate and amendments and, in this case, effectively kills the bill. On the Closing Cloture Vote on June 7, these presidential candidates chose to not go on record either way by NOT VOTING:
Kerry (D-MA)
McCain (R-AZ)
During the debate and amending process, candidates often don’t want to go on record for or against a particular amendment because their special interest supporters don’t like one direction and their constituents don’t like the other. There were 41 amendments voted on with roll call votes. These presidential candidates chose to not go on record either way by NOT VOTING (these grand totals include the two cloture non votes):
Dodd (D-CT) 18 times
McCain (R-AZ) 11
Brownback (R-KS) 9
Obama (D-IL) 6
Kerry (D-MA) 4
Biden (D-DE) 3
Clinton (D-NY) 1
This NOT VOTING record is probably a good indicator of how these candidates would handle controversial issues as President of the United States.

Hey BullMoose,
My ideas are this, this is how how we as a group who have already landed in the the same place as Americans make things happen.. List your favorite sites that are in the BullMoose frame of mind... list the issues America has that concern you.... this is the only way we can as a group of like thinkers get on the same page, get organaized, get it together ya know... we can bitch and whine but what good does that do??? As Jamie said, and I whole heartedly agree that bitching creates cynics..we don't need that crap..Jamie will set the tone on Bullmoosage on the show, we need to get our thoughts together here in this forum ...Jamie will get the rest done rest assured.. Everyone list things you would like to get to work on as a team and lets make it happen...
Gabe can you let us know of some the sites you mentioned ? If they are BMA worthy maybe we can attach BMA to them??? Let us know brother. Thx LTL

I'm not sure about whether it's Moose-worthy necessarily, but these are the blogs I read reguarly. I don't necessarily share EVERY idea they have, but they're a lot closer to my thinking than anyone in the government right now.
www.michellemalkin.com - Michelle Malkin's blog
www.nicedoggie.net - The Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler. Satirical comedy with biting commentary on politics and society.
www.imao.us - I have no idea what it stands for, but it's another good satire/comedy site with a clear political bent.
www.littlegreenfootballs.com - I'm sure you've heard of them. These guys are always on top of the radical Islam front, keeping the truth out there.
www.bamapachyderm.com - My Vast Right-Wing Consiracy. Pretty good too.
www.boortz.com - Neal Boortz is a radio talk show host based in Atlanta (I think). He's a libertarian, but not crazy enough to think we shouldn't wage war on those that want to kill us. He's also co-author of the FairTax, which is an awesome idea to overhaul the tax code.
www.townhall.com/columnists - There are a number of great opnion articles that show up here and there are always a good number of people willing to comment.
There are dozens of other blogs listed in the "blogroll" on each site, so the network can continue to grow.
