They Lied, People Died

You Republican voters know all too well now what it's like to be betrayed after eight years of unforgivable domestic spending capped by the Grand Illegal Alien Dump on the U.S.A.
But will those of you investing in the Democratic Party last election know betrayal when you see it or will you just be content to remain HillObamcrats forever no matter what?
Okaaayyyyy. Maybe you will. But here's a shot at Common Sense for you.
The Democratic Party's cut and run from it's big blustery threat to set a date certain for troop withdrawal from Iraq is being framed by the mainstream as an "abandonment" of the Dems "plan".
Baloney. It's not an abandonment. The Dem leaders never intended to stick to their "pledge" and the only people who DID NOT know it were those who voted Democrat in November.
The Dems showboated the threat of pullout in front of impatient voters like a fisherman lures a bass, except the jerk bait this time were American men and women fighting in Iraq. Who wouldn't strike at the shiny prospect of bringing our men and women home fast?
But the Dems knew they couldn't pull off the pull out they wanted and that you were convinced the U.S. needed. They knew it in the August primaries and they knew it the October run up to November. They knew they didn't have the votes. But because the waters were so ripe with hungry fish they persisted.
They didn't care that it undermined the troops.
They didn't care that it fed Jihadist propaganda.
They didn't care that it probably fueled an increase in attacks and deaths.
They cared about getting elected.
Seen Big Senator Webb lately?
I'll never forget interviewing Charlie Rangel a few weeks back when the Dems and errant Repubs raided the treasury to use your tax dollars to buy votes for the war funding/surrender bill. He said criticism of the Dems was unfair because it was going to be vetoed anyway.

It was all a game.
Those of you voting for the Dems in November out of loyalty, faith or anger with Repubs now know what it's like to be the fish yanked up on the boat, only to discover you went for and swallowed...
A Plastic Worm. Choose any color.
Well, you won't see any admission of this by Dem voters, and even if you do, it will be glossed over in a sort of "oh, well, at least they aren't Republicans" manner. The average left winger, in my estimation, thinks solely in a binary way on this. You have evil Republicans and good Democrats and there's no alternative. I find myself saying this on politicians lately: "they are all full of it, EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM." My lefty friends mostly respond with, "yeah" meekly, while my righty friends and I then get into a meaningful dialogue on the problem. Now I'm not saying there aren't plenty of Republicans/righties out there who aren't total head-in-the-sand idiots, but it goes back to the whole idea that Dems only exist by opposing Republicans. They stand for virtually nothing, except "anything goes!"
Now leave the be so they can write Tony Romero another check for your right to marry a chicken.

I believe that the democrat voters are being betrayed by the amnesty sell-out too, which is primarily a steaming pile from democrat 'leadership' and Bush. There are the usual RINOs who support it, but it has been the GOP standing in the way previously.
Why it is being associated with the GOP, as if they, the party as a whole, are responsible for it, is absurd.
And another thing.......I don't remember the democrats running on anything except bashing Bush.

I find it totally unbelievable the games that BOTH parties are doing with the American people.
If both parties want this war won and the troops home, they would stop politicizing the war and let the military professionals run it.
If both parties want lower gas prices, they would fix the true problems with what is causing the high prices.
If you want to fix immigration, secure the darn border before ever bringing an amnesty bill. We all know that they will not fix the border, but they will eventually do the amnesty REGARDLESS of all the empty promises they have put into the bill.
And last but not least, is there truly anyone out there in Washington (with the exception of Ron Paul who I find loony in his ideas on security) truly believe in a small government. Next, they will be making a law for the amount of toilet paper we can use in one sitting based upon the recommendations of Sheryl Crow.

I am a Democrat more by small town hereditary, and I go to the Democrat functions. I can honestly say that I cannot get a legitimate political debate with Democrats. I agree with you. I can get into meaningful debates more with the Republicans, conservative thinkers.

This is my first time EVER responding to a Blog, if that is what this is, I'm not computer savvy but over the past few days I have loved coming to Bull Moose America and I can't sit the side lines any more, so here I go...
I agree with everyone, getting jerked 'round by those political reps. we thought would speak for us, and I too am tired of it, they all lie & about everything. I want someone who will represent me in Washington and Jeff City that is simply honest. Honest with themselves and me and my neighbors and my brothers & sisters-in-arms. I don't have to like what they say all the time, or for that matter, what they think, I just want them to be honest and up front. I hate liars !!! Is Jesse Ventura running for office somewhere? At least he told you what he was thinking, like it or not. He knew you couldn't make everyone happy all of the time.
AND as far as calling the shots militarily - I relate that matter to a sports coach who has never played sports - you shouldn't being calling the shots if you've never played the game. I am a vet (out last Summer-medical discharge) and support my brothers and sisters still in the game, and my blood boils over every time I hear someone who has never served in the military profess to know what is best for the military and how best to lead us ... yes, us, I am still on active duty in my soul and probably always will be. If those ya-hoos think they know so much & that they can make better military decisions than the Chain-of-Command, then by all means, PLEASE, jump right in NEXT TO MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS ON THE FRONT LINES and lead by example. I'm sure they wouldn't mind showing you first hand the difference between "talking" politics and what is best for the troops, and putting your thoughts to work in real life. AND those ya-hoos need to go back to history class and see what happens every time a fledgling government is promised support and then abandoned when the going gets tough. My God, where would we be today if the French would have done that to us during our Revolutionary War? (I know, I give the French a hard time too... usually... however, I love most of their immigration policies).

I have many democrat voting people in my family and I am sad to say that they vote that way because they like getting freebies. They feel like they are owed something. They are obsessed with what others have instead of appreciating what they have. Screw the rich, is their mantra....even though it is the very rich who line the democrat coffers and the avg Joe who gives in $10, $20, $100 to the GOP.
And guess who they run to when they need help of any sort? The only one who works their knuckles to the bone, plans ahead, saves every dime for that day when life will ultimately kick them in the ass, and never got or asked for help from those same people........me, the conservative. Time for me to turn off the spigot.

The very rich lining the democrat coffers also have their business headquartered out of Bermuda or other island nations bypassing the American tax laws. They also have a ton of accountants to know every loophole they can get. They want more taxation, but it will not be taxation on them.

With 70% of Americans believing that the invasion and occupation of Iraq was a mistake, the Democratic leadership certainly had a large pool in which to fish. But, as someone "who voted Democrat (sic) in November", I knew the Democratic efforts to change the strategy in Iraq would be largely futile. Even a rudimentary understanding of the American political and lawmaking processes made it clear that the slight Democratic majorities possible in the House and Senate could not override a Presidential veto, and I suspect most voters knew as much. For far-left activists to now insist that the Democrats resubmit the vetoed bill ad nauseum makes neither political nor practical sense.
Did some Democratic candidates oversell their ability to change the course in Iraq? I suspect so. Did groups such as moveon.org oversell it? Certainly. Have Republicans oversold the terrorism threat to the US? Of course. At least in part, the 2006 midterm election result was a process for punishing Republicans, thus far largely held unaccountable for their disastrous Iraq policy. The oft repeated mantra that criticism of the Iraq invasion "undermines the troops", "feeds jihadist propaganda", or "increases attacks and deaths" are all unsubstantiated and are used by Iraq occupation proponents to limit criticism of this war. But to contend that the newly elected Democrats were playing games with soldier's lives ignores that our President vetoed the very bill that set a timetable for their return.
The American voters got their wish in 2006, but 2008 will determine if they get the results they deserve.
